Day One: World Diplomacy Summit opens in Kinshasa

DAY ONE | WORLD DIPLOMACY SUMMIT

IT STARTS TODAY.

After weeks of preparation, mobilization and commitment, the time has come.

Kinshasa is hosting the World Diplomacy Summit today, an event bringing together young people, diplomats, experts, institutional leaders and various stakeholders to discuss the realities shaping our world.

But this summit must not be just another event.

IT MUST BE A SPACE WHERE PEOPLE SPEAK, LISTEN AND, ABOVE ALL, THINK ABOUT WHAT WE WANT TO BUILD.

Diplomacy is not limited to grand halls, official speeches or meetings between states. It also begins with dialogue, understanding others, the ability to defend one’s interests, and the desire to seek solutions.

And in this dynamic, African youth has a full role to play.

We cannot continue to talk about Africa’s future without allowing its youth to take part in the conversations that determine that future.
